Traffic stop in Navasota leads to drug seizure – Willy 1550 & 98.7

According to a press release from the City of Navasota,

“On Sunday, June 2, at approximately 1 a.m., Navasota Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan SUV near the intersection of Highway 6 Feeder Road and Junction 515 for a traffic violation of the road.
The officer identified two subjects: Severo Lugo, 41, of Edinburg, Texas, and Michael Barnes, 45, of Hempstead, Texas.

During the test, the subjects became nervous and admitted to being in possession of marijuana. A search was carried out.

During the search, officers found several boxes containing thousands of nicotine vapes, over 1,000 grams of THC gummies, over 135 grams of baked goods, several large bottles of carbon dioxide inhalants, Nitrogen also known as whippits, THC cartridges and other accessories. Mr. Lugo and Mr. Barnes were charged with manufacture/delivery of a Penalty Group 2 controlled substance and possession of an aerosol capable of abuse with intent to inhale.
