4 men charged in deadly Florida carjacking caught on camera

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Four men were charged Thursday in connection with a fatal carjacking in Florida that was caught on video, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Jordanians Torres-Garcia, 28, Kevin Ocasio Justiniano, 27, Giovany Crespo Hernandez, 27, and Derek Alexis Rodriguez Bonilla, 21, all of Orlando, were all charged with carjacking resulting in death, kidnapping resulting in death and use of a firearm during and in connection with a crime of violence.

If convicted on all counts, all four face a mandatory minimum sentence of life in prison and would be eligible for the death penalty, according to the DOJ.

Torres-Garcia allegedly admitted to being the person who got out of a green Acura on April 11 and approached the vehicle of Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvias, 31, with an AR-15. He said he obtained the AR-15 from an unnamed person near Lake Drive in Casselberry about 30 minutes before the carjacking, according to a criminal complaint.

Torres-Garcia “bumped” Aguasvias’ vehicle in an attempt to stop him, according to the complaint. When the car stopped at a red light at the intersection of East Lake Drive and Tuskawilla Road in Winter Springs, Garcia got out of the car with the AR-15.

Aguasvias’ vehicle was later found burned in Osceola County. His body was found inside, authorities said. A medical examination revealed that she had been shot several times.

“GARCIA admitted to receiving $1,500 to take the VICTIM and deliver her to another person,” the complaint states. The “individual” was not specified.

“I guess from the beginning, everyone who’s watched this knows it’s about drugs and money,” Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma said previously.

Hernández is believed to be the last person to have had contact with Aguasvias before the carjacking. Lemma said they believed Aguasvias was on his way to meet Hernandez.

The green Acura involved in the carjacking also may be linked to another murder that occurred before the carjacking, Lemma said.
