Community center makes a splash by hosting first-ever “at home” swim meet

This inaugural event represents a positive step forward for the Excelsior Springs community. The Purple Wave Swim Team is open to swimmers ages 6 to 18 and provides “a nurturing environment for young athletes to hone their skills.” The team will host two more home competitions on July 2 and 16 at the Excelsior Springs Community Center, demonstrating the new pool’s potential to become a hub for aquatics competitions in the area.

“We’re excited to have Purple Wave at the community center, but we may have to consider changing the team name,” joked Nate Williams, director of parks and recreation and community center, referring to the rivalry friendly between Kearney and Excelsior Springs. in athletics.
