“Unfair treatment” and GMFs unhappy with CNM decision regarding online course substitution policy for foreign medical graduates

FMGE guidelines: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has published an important notice clarifying the conduct of internships for Foreign Medical Graduates (GMF). Based on the official press release, the Commission announced that certificates attesting to the replacement of online theoretical courses with offline practical and clinical training will no longer be recognized.

“It has been observed that many GMFs maliciously obtain compensatory certificates from their home universities for the online courses they provide. professionals”, the Commission said in an official statement. However, the students are not satisfied with the NMC’s decision. Terming it “unfair treatment”, the students request the Commission to reconsider this decision.

“GMFs who have completed their courses online for any length of time during the completion of their courses must qualify the FMG exam and then complete a Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) for a period of two/three years ( a 12-month schedule to be repeated) as mentioned in the circular dated 9.5.2023 and in accordance with the public notice posted online on 7 December 2023″, added the Commission.
