Tottenham transfer update: Club urged to consider selling Heung Min-Son and Richarlison amid Saudi interest

The search for a breakthrough season continues for Tottenham Hotspur. There hasn’t been a season since 2008 where the Londoners have had a chance of winning a trophy, only trying to maintain their status among the top six in the Premier League. But with the new season at the helm, Spurs will hit the restart button and make some significant changes to their squad. In fact, for the first stage, the club is be asked to consider the potential sale of Heung Min-Son and Richarlison, who have reportedly attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League.

In the latest episode of talkSPORT, Flav Bateman, avid Spurs fan and host of Tottenham-based podcast ‘The Fighting Cock’, was invited to discuss his favorite team’s transfer strategy ahead of the 2024/25 season. Bateman first outlined Son’s future at the club: “I don’t think there’s a world where Tottenham are considering an offer unless it’s an insane amount of money that’s not going to go to Heung Min-Son and you’re talking 80 to £90 million ($102 million to $115 million) from Saudi Arabia.”

Daniel Lévy and Co. apparently are willing to get rid of Son in exchange for a million dollar offer. Building on speculation, Bateman was SO asked if Richarlison, who has been heavily linked with leaving this summer, would also be offloaded by Spurs for ‘reduce their cost.» Interestingly, the YouTuber expressed his doubts, while praising the quality of the Brazilian. Bateman insisted that few no. 9 in the Premier League, which are score 10 goals in 10 matches.

He insisted that in the coming season, Ange Postecoglou could go abandon traditional approach #9 and implement a “fluid system‘, which would see players become a false No.9. While selling Son would certainly be a surprise, given he scored 17 PL goals last season, Richarlison’s place could be in danger. Regardless, it remains to be seen what transfer decision Tottenham will make.
