Sci-fi comedy series ‘Demascus’ canceled at AMC

The series, which has finished production, joins the second season of Moon Haven And 61st street as well as Invitation to a bonfireas evidenced by shows that were removed as part of a depreciation of cable network programming.

In an SEC filing, AMC Networks said “programming ratings cover a broad range of owned and licensed content, including traditional television series and movies that will no longer be in active rotation on linear platforms or digital of the company”.

Unmask is the last broadcast cut before its broadcast; thriller Invitation to a bonfire was also in production when it was axed, as were a number of Warner Bros. shows. Discovery.

Created by Chisholm, Unmask follows an eponymous character, a 33-year-old black man on a mission of self-discovery and the burgeoning field of digital psychiatry that could be the key to defining his true personality. The series is a comedic, fluid, coming-of-age story with a reality-bending premise that explores the divide between the perspectives of black men, while also attempting to answer Demascus’ personal question: “Who am I?” -I ?

Okieriete Onaodowan, Janet Hubert, Caleb Eberhardt and Shakira Ja’nai Paye have been cast alongside Martin Lawrence in a recurring role.

American crime Kirk Moore and Chisholm produce alongside Johnson along with Gran Via’s Myki Bajaj.

Invitation to a bonfire Showrunner Rachel Caris Love told Deadline yesterday that she hopes the six-part series, which stars Tatiana Maslany, Ngozi Anyanwu and Pilou Asbæ, will find another home.

Unmask could theoretically similarly find another home with AMC Studios purchasing the project.
