Tyson Fury admits ‘shortcomings’ against Oleksandr Usyk but vows to get his belts back

Tyson Fury has sent his first warning to Oleksandr Usyk since confirming he would exercise his rematch option.

Usyk became the only man to defeat “The Gypsy King” in May and was thus crowned the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis almost 25 years ago.

After the fight, some suggested Fury might hang up his gloves instead of facing the Ukrainian again, but it didn’t take long for the 35-year-old to squash those rumors and activate his rematch clause.

Now, in the caption of a new training video posted by “The Gypsy King” on Instagram, he has vowed to reclaim his throne after admitting his “shortcomings” last time.

” Listen ! I conquered everything in boxing, titles, records, everything. But I’ve never had to come back from a loss.

On December 21 in Riyadh, in the heart of the kingdom, the king will resume his throne and become uncontested. Usyk, I’m coming for you! Get ready for the Gypsy King!

The path to redemption is mine. I know what I must do, I have seen my faults and I believe that I am inevitable.

Turki Alalshikh, the man behind big boxing in Saudi Arabia, confirmed that the two will return on December 21 to the Kingdom. It remains to be seen whether all four belts will be up for grabs again, with the IBF threatening to remove Usyk for failing to fulfill his mandatory duties.
