Four-door 2025 Mini Cooper leaves more room for people in the back

It seems like there’s no end to the new Minis. The new compact range has been coming out of the Munich headquarters like Pez since last September. Here’s another one: the 2025 Mini Cooper four-door (or five-door, depending on where you live) with the internal combustion powertrain. This is the longer and more door version of the two-door Cooper and Cooper S revealed in February for our market. An additional 2.8 inches of wheelbase and 6.8 inches of length provide more room for second-row passengers and cargo space. The automaker says designers made the rear “noticeably wider” inside, giving three-seater occupants more room to swing their elbows. According to European measurements, cargo capacity is 9.7 cubic feet with the second row up, and 32.7 cubic feet with the second row lowered.

The U.S.-market Cooper S four-door features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, as in the two-door version, those figures are 21 horsepower and 15 lb-ft. ft. better than the 2.0-liter turbo in the outgoing Mini. This version will cost $34,195 after a $995 destination charge when it hits dealers in about three months. In January 2025, Mini will add a four-door Cooper C version. It will use the same engine as the S but with lower power and its price will be lower than the S.

International markets will also get a turbocharged three-cylinder engine as the entry-level engine, developing 154 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. The 1.5-liter three-cylinder coming out of the base U.S.-market Mini makes 134 horsepower and 162 lb-ft, so buyers will benefit from upgrades no matter what market they’re in and what engines they have. ‘they get.

The European finishing stage will be Essential, Classic, Favored and JCW. Omitting the three-cylinder here, we’ll enjoy Classic, Favored and JCW in a choice of 11 body colors and three contrasting roof treatments; The Favored theme includes the option of a multi-color roof with a three-color gradient. If the wheel size matches that of the two-door, U.S. buyers can choose between 17- and 18-inch aero wheels, but not the 16-inchers on sale elsewhere.
