Tom Brady delivers his speech at the Patriots Hall of Fame

Tom Brady had a classy message for Bill Belichick during the legendary quarterback’s induction into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame on Wednesday night.

Belichick was one of many special guests who attended Brady’s big night. When the coach took the stage at the sold-out Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, he received a standing ovation from the more than 60,000 fans in attendance that rivaled Brady’s.

Even Brady got up from his chair to encourage fans to continue cheering for his former coach. And when it came time for Brady to give his own speech, he included a powerful message for Belichick. Brady said there was no debate in his mind about whether he or Belichick deserved more credit for the six Super Bowl titles they won together in New England.

β€œThank you for your tireless commitment which pushes me to give the best of myself. It wasn’t me, it wasn’t you. It was us. … Let me be clear, there is no coach in the world I would rather play for,” Brady said.

Brady immediately won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after leaving the Patriots in 2020. Belichick had only one playoff appearance and no playoff victories with the Patriots in the three years that followed Brady’s departure. To many, this proved that Brady was largely responsible for New England’s unprecedented success. Brady always said he wouldn’t have had the same career without Belichick.

Even though Brady hinted that he had issues with Belichick, the mutual respect between the two was on full display again Wednesday night.
