Conor Bradley’s message to Arne Slot on Liverpool role will interest Trent Alexander-Arnold

Conor Bradley has admitted he is relishing the opportunity to play higher up the pitch in a message to Arne Slot that could see him used in numerous roles.

A traditional right-back, Bradley started on the right wing for Northern Ireland this week, playing in an advanced role looking to join the attack whenever possible. The Liverpool youngster impressed, scoring twice in a win over Moldova while once again demonstrating his attacking prowess as he did for the Reds last year.

The 2023/24 season was a breakout season for Bradley, making 23 appearances while adding six assists and a goal – impressing in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold when he was injured or rested.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Bradley said: “Michael (O’Neill, Northern Ireland HC) is not telling me to go wherever I want but to play with freedom and whatever you feel in the game and to do what you feel like playing like that, taking little inside positions and outside positions, whatever the flow of the game is and it’s working right now.”

These words will certainly intrigue new head coach Slot, who will surely look to make the most of Bradley’s offensive abilities – looking to be more direct than Alexander-Arnold.

Interestingly, Alexander-Arnold also faces an intriguing situation, as he is expected to play in midfield for England in the European Championship matches, while many believe his future could be in a more advanced role.

Although both have played at right back throughout their careers to date, they could find themselves used in advanced roles, with Alexander-Arnold as a defensive midfielder and Bradly as a right forward, should Slot choose to do.
