Mountaineer Football announces addition of tight end

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – (June 11, 2024) West Virginia University football coach Neal Brown announced that Greg Genross, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound redshirt junior from New York, New York, has signed an aid grant and will transfer to WVU from the Dodge City community. College in Dodge City, Kansas. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

2023 (r-So.) – Dodge City CC

  • Played for Coach Terry Karg at Dodge City CC
  • Earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I First Team All-American honors.
  • Also named an All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) first-team selection
  • Helped Dodge City to an 8-3 record and appearance in the program’s first bowl game against New Mexico Army.
  • Played in nine games and finished with 16 catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns
  • Had a game-high four catches for 48 yards and a touchdown against Iowa Western
  • Recorded three catches for 76 yards with a long of 33 yards against Garden City
  • Had three receptions for 12 yards at Independence
  • Recorded two catches for 10 yards and a touchdown at Highland CC

2022 (r-Fr.) – Dodge City CC

  • Played eight games as a redshirt freshman
  • Had 10 catches for 92 yards and a touchdown
  • Finished with two catches for 45 yards with a long of 40 yards against Hutchinson CC
  • Recorded four catches for 18 yards with a long of 13 yards against Iowa Central CC
  • Recorded an 11-yard touchdown against Highland

2021 (fr.) – ASA New York

High school

  • Played wide receiver for coach Alex Vega at John F. Kennedy High
  • Helped JFK go 7-3, including 7-2 in league play
