CLEMSON, SC — Darrin Callicoat is director of facilities for the College of Veterinary Medicine. He is responsible for all facility operations, capital planning, business continuity, utility utilization, occupancies and security. He also represents the CVM team as the primary liaison with the Clemson facilities organization, construction teams and project managers.

“I’m excited to be part of the CVM team and to be able to help build the campus from the ground up,” Callicoat said. “I was particularly interested in becoming the facilities director in charge of the only veterinary school in the state of South Carolina.”

Callicoat has more than 25 years of technical and leadership experience, as well as a master’s degree in industrial systems engineering from Ohio University. While working for several Fortune 500 companies, he led teams of engineers, architects, project managers and large facilities organizations. In his senior management roles, he provided direct support to the company’s financial and operational, security and environmental teams, and initiated business continuity initiatives.

“I can’t wait to see the campus come to life and be a part of ‘day one’ when we open the doors for the first time, watching the reactions of students and staff when they see what the CVM team accomplished.

He is excited about this opportunity and believes it is a true privilege to take on this critical role as Facilities Manager for the College of Veterinary Medicine. He is dedicated to the success of the CVM team and the well-being of the staff and students who call Clemson home.

“I am also honored to be a part of the Clemson organization. I had heard stories about the family atmosphere, but I wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived on campus. I was pleasantly surprised after my first day with the CVM team to see that they treated each other like family.
