She flew over her native Milwaukee to kill clothing store owner Sikander Ali on the orders of his rival Mohammed Aslam, 56, and his son Mohammed Nazir, 30.

She then documented her visit to Birmingham, where she shared a mock photo showing herself with devil horns. The photo was posted on September 7 – the day before she dressed up in a hijab before attempting to shoot Ali outside a house in Acocks Green, a suburb of England’s second city.

Betro fled the scene when her gun jammed, but she later returned in a taxi and fired three shots at the property.

It was a source of ridicule for some of Betro’s old friends in Wisconsin.

Johnson said she hasn’t seen her daughter in years. She knew Betro had an open identity theft case against her in Wisconsin. She also described the startling experience of having the FBI show up at her trailer a few years ago, questioning her about her daughter.

Authorities accused the daughter of sending an illegal package and obtained a DNA sample from the mother, likely to help authorities match it to Betro’s DNA in their investigation.

Johnson quickly messaged her daughter asking about the package and said her daughter responded curtly, “It’s none of your business!”

She now thinks it could all be linked to the 2019 investigation in Birmingham, England.

“I never understood why she did what she did,” she told DailyMail.com. “I thought she booked it because of this identity theft thing.”

She admitted that she didn’t have the most affectionate relationship with her daughter and only heard from her recently when she sent her a Mother’s Day card from an unknown source.

“She’s a pretty girl, very smart, very outgoing,” Johnson said. “I couldn’t get a word in edgewise.”

She said her daughter graduated in the top third of her class in high school and went to Mid-State Technical College. She eventually landed an administrative position with the Milwaukee Brewers, which she seemed to love.

But according to Betro’s friend, she lost her job after being caught using her fans’ credit cards to pay for her own trips and hotels.

He said she often traveled abroad, including to the United Kingdom and other countries where she attended concerts and raves. She also promoted bands and, a few years ago, purchased electronic equipment for DJ events.

He had known Betro for years. The two played on the same frisbee golf team, playing games across the state. They would also get together for local keg parties where a few dozen friends would get together.
