NSUI protests in Kota demanding cancellation of NEET exam:

** Kota, NSUI (National Students Union of India) staged a protest in Kota demanding cancellation of NEET exam. The protest at the Collectorate resulted in a clash between the police and NSUI activists, leading to the police using batons to disperse the crowd.

In response to allegations of malpractice and paper leaks in the NEET exam, NSUI had already launched a signature campaign. Today, NSUI held a protest at the Collectorate, where they were planning to submit a memorandum. Around 300 NSUI activists gathered outside the Circuit House and marched towards the Collectorate chanting slogans.

The protest was led by NSUI state president Vinod Jhakar, state in-charge Akhilesh Yadav and district president Vishal Mewada. The police had erected barricades in front of the Collectorate to stop the protesters. When some activists climbed the barricades to demand entry, they collapsed. This led to a scuffle between police and protesters, during which police charged the activists with batons to disperse them.

State President Vinod Jhakar commented on the situation saying, “Kota, once known as a training town, is now infamous as a suicide town. Thousands of students come here with dreams of becoming doctors, but malpractices and paper leaks shatter their hopes. NEET paper was leaked and sold for up to Rs 30 lakh. Despite this, if the central government does not act, it will be an injustice to students. The government’s false justifications will not work. recognized, and the examination must be canceled and restarted.

District president Vishal Mewada added, “The students had come to demonstrate peacefully. Our request was to meet the collector and submit our memorandum. The police stopped us and when some activists tried to continue, they were charged with batons. The government is trying to suppress the voices of students. »
