Quincy Wilson sets new career high, breaks record at New Balance Nationals

Quincy Wilson did not disappoint at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor.

The Bullis School (MD) star set a new 400-meter record Saturday at Franklin Field, clocking a new personal best of 45.13 en route to victory.

Wilson’s run on Saturday makes him the second-fastest U18 athlete in history, behind Jonathan Simms’ 45.12 from 2023.

Wilson, who qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials, broke his previous personal best.

Wilson ran a 45.17 at the East Coast International Showcase in May. This outdoor season, Wilson also won the 400 at the Florida Relays in 45.19.

Mateo Medina, an Ohio native, chased Bullis all the way inside and placed second in the blistering heat with a time of 46.41.

Medina is coming off three individual state titles in Ohio for Elyria and a team title for his efforts in June. Jaden Marchan finished third overall in 46.58.
