A Tiny Fairytale-Inspired Cabin With a Rocky Exterior Blends Perfectly into the French Forest – Yanko Design

A picturesque residence called Antoine was built in 2014 by Bureau. The little house was designed to blend in with the Swiss Alps, and now the company has revealed another little house inspired by literature called Thérèse. The pretty residence features a rocky exterior finish and is inspired by the novel Derborence by Charles-Ferdinand Ramirez. The story includes the protagonist Antoine and his wife Thérèse.

Nestled in a rural, wooded area, the micro-cabin is located in an artistic residence in Eastern France. It was constructed of wood, then covered with a rock-like concrete finish. The interior of the home occupies 94.7 square feet and has a natural wood finish. The house doesn’t feel as claustrophobic as one might expect, in fact, it’s filled with natural light streaming in through huge porthole-like windows.

Upon entering this unique abode, you are greeted by a spacious floor space that can accommodate a single room. The room includes a wood stove which can be used for cooking. It also contains storage spaces, a table and a bench seat. Additional bench seating is also located nearby. The interior style is minimal and subtle, with wooden furniture and touches. There is a calming appeal when you enter.

The rest of the interior also includes a small house-style mezzanine sleeping area accessed via a ladder. But one of the obvious downsides of the house is that it doesn’t include a bathroom, which is really inconvenient in my opinion. So, if nature calls, visitors will have to use the forest for their needs. Although the cabin is quite quaint and adorable, it seems quite sparse in terms of amenities. There doesn’t seem to be much equipped space and the lack of a bathroom is a major inconvenience. However, if you are planning a quick stay, perhaps for a day, the Thérèse tiny house could be a good option, but for longer periods, the accommodation really seems to leave you wanting more.
