Fans shocked after Netflix show with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes renewed for another season

The show has a perfect Rotten Tomatoes show

Normally, a beloved show with 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes that has huge fan support would be a certainty for renewal.

When Netflix are involved, however, there can always be a degree of uncertainty, with even the most beloved of shows being ended before their time.

In this case, it isn’t the fact it’s a Netflix show that has fans shocked about the renewal.

Check out the trailer here for season one and see what you think:

The show is Delicious in Dungeon, which was confirmed for a second season just last week, but fans are shocked.

Delicious in Dungeon is an animated show based on a hugely popular manga of the same name, a Japanese comic series.

The concept is highly inspired by Dungeons and Dragonsthe now world famous Tabletop Roleplaying Game.

No, I will not be referring Stranger Thingseven if it’s on Netflix.

The show follows a group of adventurers trying to fight their way through a dungeon to save their friend – all the while surviving by eating the monsters in said dungeon.

It’s a bonkers concept that clearly stuck the landing based on the 100 percent rating and the fact it was renewed for another season.

An

“Now in production! We want to thank you for supporting #DeliciousinDungeon!

“Please continue to support the series and share your love for the series!”

And replies to the post, which was also reposted by animation studio Trigger on X, announcing the renewal range, with most fans ecstatic – but many were shocked.

One person said: ‘Good to hear! I’d heard some people saying that Trigger making second seasons is rare and was starting to worry about this.’

Another reply added to this: “Yeah, it took a decade for them to just announce a season 2 for a previous show they made lol so this is great news because it’s immediately in the pipeline”.

While a third said: “Well that’s totally unexpected. I thought that Delicious in Dungeon is only going to get 24 episodes.”

The show’s first season has 24 episodes, but in a surprising turn – more is on the way.

Amongst the show’s 100 percent of positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, Delicious in Dungeon also received a score of 8/10 from IGN.

In their review, Kambole Campbell said: “Delicious in Dungeon’s charming character work, playful comedy, luxuriously presented dishes, and the loving depiction of their creation would be pleasing by itself.

“But its world-building and earnest reflections on the value of the rituals of cooking – even as it pokes fun at its main character’s absurd mindset – have made it unmissable appointment viewing.”

Based on that, we’ve got our weekend watch shortened – and will be joining the masses of fans eagerly waiting for season two.
