Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf was in the eye of the storm after a video of his confrontation with a fan went viral on social media. Just hours after the video went viral, Rauf broke his silence on the issue. The Pakistani pacer took to Twitter to post his side of the story, saying the fan should not have verbally attacked his family.

Haris Rauf had a violent altercation with a fan on Tuesday June 18. Rauf was filmed charging towards a fan, who appeared to be hurling abuse at the player. An agitated Rauf asked the fan if he was from India or not, to which the fan replied that he was from Pakistan.

“I decided not to talk about it on social media. But now that the video is out, I think it’s necessary to address the situation. As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of public comments. They have the right to support or criticize us However, when it comes to my parents and family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect. people and their families, regardless of their profession,” Rauf said on Twitter.

Rauf was criticized on social media for his actions. Several troll accounts discussed how Rauf asked the fan if he was Indian or not. Many have claimed that although Rauf is friendly to Indian players on camera, he hates Indians in general.

A section of social media users also denounced the fan’s behavior. They argued that cricketers should not be forced to take photos or give autographs when spending time with their families.

The Pakistan team has been in turmoil since its exit from the T20 World Cup, with fans and pundits calling for the sacking of the majority of the team. Babar Azam is in the eye of the storm and should be recalled by the PCB whenever he returns to Pakistan.
