Wisconsin football target for 2026 ‘shocked’ by scholarship offer

In an exclusive interview with Wisconsin sports heroisma Wisconsin football target has opened up about the surprising offer.

Jack Duckworth, a 2026 Texas athlete, has been on the Wisconsin football radar for some time now. Duckworth was one of the first 2026 recruits to receive a scholarship from the Wisconsin football team, and the offer certainly came as a surprise. During the interview, Duckworth revealed how he handled his college recruitment, his reaction to Wisconsin’s football offer, as well as what his dream scholarship was.

In early March of this year, the Wisconsin football team began conducting extensive searches in the Class of 2026 to offer its first wave of scholarships. Among the players offered was three-star athlete Jack Duckworth, from a high school very familiar to the Wisconsin staff. Rockwall High School was home to current Badgers quarterback Braedyn Locke, as well as his brother and 2025 commit Landyn Locke.

After Wisconsin football offered Duckworth a scholarship, the athlete said, “It was very shocking because it was one of my first Power Four offers.” The athlete has experience as a receiver and cornerback in high school, but has primarily been in contact with Cornerbacks coach Paul Haynes. Duckworth believes he will play cornerback at the college level, which appears to be the position he was primarily recruited for.

The athlete has also been offered by Arizona State, Texas State, North Texas and Arkansas, to name a few.

Following Wisconsin’s scholarship offer, Duckworth said, “Wisconsin is a winning program, which really made me realize the potential they saw for me in the future.” The athlete also said he feels the Wisconsin offer made him focus much more on developing his skills.

While some recruits feel their game could be finished before college, Duckworth feels he hasn’t scratched the surface of his potential yet. The athlete said: “I really feel like I haven’t scratched the surface yet, I 100% believe there is still a lot of work to do. »

With more time to develop and hone his skills before college football, Duckworth could become a four-star recruit in no time.

As Duckworth continues to receive scholarship offers, the Wisconsin Badgers football team continues to work to build a relationship with the recruit. While Duckworth has expressed his desire to secure a scholarship offer from his dream school, Arkansas, the athlete admitted that Wisconsin remains a possible landing spot. Duckworth said, “It’s 100 percent because I love the fact that their corner coach, Coach Haynes, put effort into maintaining a relationship with me while he was still an underclassman. “
