Meet Cream Cheese the Beagle from the Central PA Humane Society | WTAJ

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — This week’s featured pet is Cream Cheese, the 3-year-old beagle puppy from the Central PA Humane Society. Cream Cheese is a sweet girl and she loves to be held and heard! Since she’s a dog, she’s definitely howling and she wants you to hear it! She was abandoned at the shelter by her previous owners, so now she is looking for another family to take her in. She is great with other cats, dogs and children, so she would fit in just about anywhere!

The Central PA Humane Society is set to host its Bikers for Barkers event on Saturday, July 6 at the Harley Davidson Roundhouse. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and crutches are up at 11 a.m. For riders, the cost is $25 and includes the ride, chicken dinner and group access. Non-riders will need to bring $15 for entry to see the groups and an additional $10 for a chicken dinner.

The shelter would also like to remind people of the dangers of leaving animals in hot cars during the summer and having them walk with their paws on hot pavement. To test the sidewalk temperature, simply bend over and test the heat of the cement using the back of your hand. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them to walk on too!

The Central PA Wellness Center is also launching its Summer Cat Campaign, and this is an opportunity to score discounted prices for cat spaying and neutering in June, July or August. Male cats will cost $75 and female cats will cost $100. This also includes a rabies vaccine. To learn more, click here or call (814) 201-2430.

The shelter is also short on some items and needs support from the community to help fill its shelves with items for these animals. It takes a lot of time, energy and money to keep these animals healthy, happy and safe. Here is a list below of some of the needs.
