Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘never cared about royal protocol’ after ‘ridiculous’ mistake, experts say: Celebrities: Enstarz

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are aware that the schedule of their activities is often compared to the royal family’s schedule, according to a royal expert.

On Saturday, the Duchess of Sussex was accused of trying to steal the spotlight from Kate Middleton. The Princess of Wales, absent from the public spotlight for months, made her return by taking part in Trooping the Color. However, just hours before the event, Prince Harry and Markle’s pal Nacho Figueras posted a photo of a new jam and dog biscuits from Markle’s brand, American Riviera Orchard. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams criticized the couple for the poor timing of the brand rollout.

“Megan and Harry know full well that everything they do is scrutinized by the press,” Fitzwilliams told The Sun.

“The idea that they would do something on Trooping the Color day. I mean, it’s pretty stupid. I mean, it’s kind of a shock. What was done was just stupid. We know that in March, Meghan launched American Riviera.

Fitzwilliams noted that Markle reportedly sent 50 jars of strawberry jam to her celebrity friends and influencers. However, few stars posted about it and praised how wonderful it was.

“The strange thing is that she did anything on the day of Trooping the Color, it doesn’t make any sense,” Fitzwilliams added. “The label on the jar said two out of two, if she only wants to send two jars, what’s the point?”

He added: “I don’t think it was thought through. It doesn’t make any PR sense. It’s ridiculous.”

He went on to claim that the Sussexes never cared about royal protocol. They apparently didn’t care whether their actions would affect the royal family.

“The Sussexes have never cared about royal protocol, that there is no diary conflict,” the royal expert said.

Fitzwilliams noted that his PR consultants would not have advised him to do so because it was “kind of a joke”.

The royal expert added that it was “very, very strange”, and if Markle had just sent the jam, she should have warned their friends not to post it, otherwise “it clearly makes them objects of mockery”.
