Ed Balls arrested for killing an insect in front of shocked Susanna Reid

GMB host Ed Balls was slammed on social media after he was seen swatting a fly that was buzzing around the studio today (June 19).

Ed’s actions left some viewers unimpressed and left his co-star Susanna Reid visibly shocked and came after Susanna pointed out there was a fly scurrying around them.

After this distracted her, GMB host Ed acted quickly and swatted the fly between their pile of yellow notes.

In response to this, Susanna cried out and looked away. Even a producer behind the camera was surprised when Susanna exclaimed, “You’re like a Venus flytrap!”

Can I just say, it’s not a cow, it’s a fly. Can we continue, honestly?

Then the camera zoomed in on the table to get a better look at the now crushed fly. Susanna then asked, “Where did you put it?”

Ed replied calmly, “We have evolved. » He then joked: “I think killing flies is good, right? His co-host responded: “Tell you what, you’re aiming well!” »

GMB’s Sean Fletcher, off camera, agreed and said: “I’ve never seen you move so fast Ed, it was fantastic.”

Ed even boasted that he was a “pro” at killing and catching flies and added that he had “never been bitten”.

Despite this, Ed quickly appeared to defend his actions, likely due to the expected criticism. He said: “Can I just say it’s not a cow, it’s a fly. Can we continue, honestly?

“Ofcom is going to be busy”

It seems Ed was right to expect negative reactions. Taking to social media, one angry viewer wrote: “@GMB @edballs @ITV replace Ed Balls immediately!! Who the hell does he think he is?

“Yes, there was a fly in the studio, violently swatting it and killing it on the desk was completely unacceptable and uncalled for. Maybe someone will hit him that hard and see how much he likes it?

A second chimed in: “You grow out of cruelty when you become an adult. Not Ed.”

A third then said: “Rest in peace, flywho had the misfortune of fly in the GMB studio and was then mercilessly murdered by a bumbling morning TV presenter. Rest in peace.” “Did I just see Ed Balls murder a fly live on TV? » asked another.

Another then joked: “He’ll probably have to apologize tomorrow for killing a fly.” »

However, others seemed to be on Ed’s side. One said: “I’m waiting for all the anti-fly campaigners to come forward now. Ed Balls just killed a fly on live TV. Ofcom is going to be busy this morning.
