Boston’s ‘sign kid’ is ready for another championship parade

BOSTON (WPRI) — Loyal fans waited a long time to celebrate the Celtics’ 18th championship victory, including Jason McKeon.

Known as Boston’s “sign kid,” McKeon has been attending championship parades since he was nine years old.

He went viral with his billboard showing the number of championships he’s seen in his lifetime, counting the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics.

Now 22, Friday’s rolling rally will be the 13th parade he has participated in during his lifetime.

“I would say my favorite will be next,” he laughed.

Previously, its signs indicated 11 years and 8 parades; 13 and 9 parades; 15 years and 10 fashion shows; 16 and 11 parades; 17 years and 12 parades.

McKeon said each parade was better than the last.

“My favorite part is the passion with Boston sports fans,” he said. “How passionate they are about the games, how motivated they are to watch and really cheer for the team.”

He now hopes many more will arrive.
