Norman girl randomly chosen to meet Taylor Swift at concert in Scotland

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be chosen as the “winner” of the “Taylor Swift 22 Hat” at her concert. There is a fan at every concert and there have only been 103 so far. A young girl from Normandy joins the group after being randomly chosen at a show in Scotland earlier this month.

Natalie Streight got to meet and kiss her favorite singer, Taylor Swift.

“In my mind, I was thinking, oh, my God, Taylor Swift is hugging me,” said Natalie Streight who received “hat 22” during the Eras Tour.

The Streight family was on vacation in Scotland when the timing was perfect to also take part in the Eras Tour.

“We saw she would be in Edinburgh on the same three days we were already going to be there… and we got tickets,” said Lara Streight, Natalie’s mother.

Natalie always wanted to meet Taylor Swift.

“She wrote a letter to Taylor Swift on scrap paper a year and a half ago,” Lara said.

“I always said: I will be that girl one day. I’m going to meet Taylor Swift. And none of them believed me,” Natalie said.

On June 7, a member of Swift’s team randomly tapped her mother on the shoulder during the Edinburgh show.

“I asked myself: What did we do wrong? Are we being expelled? I was afraid it was something terrible. And then we started walking towards the stage and then I realized, okay, this is… this is what’s happening,” Lara said.

Finally, Natalie’s wildest dreams came true.

It’s not just a hat. Taylor Swift signed it. It’s also a big deal to be chosen as a lucky fan.

There have been over a hundred shows and only one fan is chosen for each, meaning that of the millions of Taylor Swift fans around the world, 8-year-old Natalie from Norman is only joining one small number of special fans.

Natalie said she loves everything about Taylor Swift and knows all the fun facts about the artist.

“She’s really nice and she gives little notes to her fans on tours and she’s really nice to them and she’s so nice to everyone,” Natalie said.

Natalie, who still dances like she was 22, said the memory will never be forgotten.

To protect the hat, she said the family will put it in a glass box never to be touched and it’s a memory they will never stop sharing.
