TOWIE’s Lauren Goodger calls first day of filming ‘complete shock’

Returning The Only Way is Essex star Lauren Goodger has admitted she felt “complete shock” on her first day back on set.

The star, who first appeared on the show between 2010 and 2012 before appearing as a guest a few years later, recently confirmed she would be making her return to the show.

Opening up about returning to set, Lauren reminded OK! : “I wasn’t nervous because TOWIE is sort of my home, but I was in a motherly bubble so the first day of filming was a complete shock.

“But it’s like driving a car. You might not make it for 10 years, but then you get back in the driver’s seat and take it right back. »

Lauren added: “I’m calm and humble now – I don’t think they expected that. They now see my softer, more maternal side.

“I don’t party, I haven’t had alcohol in over six months, but I still socialize. I’m like the big sister, sort of the mother of the show.”

Speaking further about the changes to the cast’s wellbeing since her last TOWIE appearance, Lauren explained: “We have wellbeing teams on set for every scene.

“It’s completely changed since I started – there wasn’t that support. They talk with you, ask how you’re feeling, and work with you to make sure you’re okay.

“If there’s something that someone’s not comfortable with, welfare will stop it, whereas back then we’d just say, ‘It’s TV. It’s showbiz.”

“It doesn’t matter how you feel. So to have that in place is amazing. And it’s amazing that the producers know that I’m a mom with a routine now, so I won’t be filming at certain times and they’re totally fine .with all this, honestly, I’m really enjoying it again.
