Triple murder suspect arrested in Arkansas after nearly two days of manhunt: police

Stacy Lee Drake was arrested Thursday morning, police said.

The “armed and dangerous” suspect accused of three murders in Oklahoma, as well as numerous other crimes, was arrested Thursday morning following a nearly two-day manhunt.

Stacy Lee Drake, 50, was taken into custody around 10 a.m. Thursday, according to Arkansas State Police.

He was found in a wooded area in Morrilton, Arkansas, and was captured without incident, according to investigators.

Drake was wanted for three homicides in Oklahoma, stemming from two separate carjackings, according to Arkansas State Police.

“Drake is wanted separately on multiple felony warrants from multiple jurisdictions, with charges including aggravated robbery, carjacking and murder,” investigators said in a statement.

The Morrilton Police Department, Arkansas State Police, Conway County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas National Guard and Arkansas Division of Community Corrections assisted in the search.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation released more details Wednesday about two of the homicides that occurred in Sequoyah County. Police discovered a man and a woman dead in a business on Tuesday.

The identities of the victims were not immediately released.

Although the victims’ causes of death are still being determined by the medical examiner, Oklahoma investigators said “both victims suffered injuries consistent with homicide.”

Drake was last seen walking outside a motel in Morrilton, Arkansas, about 53 miles northwest of Little Rock, according to police.
