Lehigh announces 2024 wrestling recruiting class

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh wrestling program announced the addition of nine newcomers who will join the Mountain Hawks this summer. The incoming class includes eight freshman student-athletes and one transfer.

Five of the newcomers are from Pennsylvania, while two are from Idaho and two others were prepared at Blair Academy in New Jersey. The two Idaho newcomers are both two-time state champions, while the first four years of Pennsylvania public schools have combined to win nine PIAA state medals at the AAA level. The newcomers who wrestled at prep schools combined to win two national prep titles, while making six finals appearances.

The transfer student-athlete in the incoming class is Rylan Rogers from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho by way of the University of Michigan, where he spent the previous two seasons. Rogers will have three seasons of eligibility remaining for Brown and White.

“We have a group of hungry wrestlers who want to make a statement at the college level,” said the head coach. Pat Santoro. “They are great cultural wrestlers who understand and trust the process of successful people on and off the mat.”

Lehigh’s class earned honorable mention in InterMat’s recruiting class rankings.

Information on the nine new arrivals can be found below. The newcomers will join a returning Mountain Hawks core that includes three All-Americans, five EIWA champions, seven NCAA qualifiers and 11 wrestlers who have competed at the EIWA championships.

Dom Federici – 174 – Swoyersville, Pennsylvania/Wyoming Seminary

Dom Federici, a four-time national prep place winner, comes to Lehigh from Wyoming Seminary prep school. Federici is a two-time national prep finalist and has placed in several major tournaments this high school season. The projected 174-pounder has twice earned a spot at Super 32 with third and fifth-place finishes under his belt and also placed at the Walsh Ironman. Federici is ranked 51st in the class of 2024 by FloWrestling and he is also in the MatScouts Top 100.

Calvin Lachman – 285 – Quakertown, Pennsylvania/Quakertown

Heavyweight Calvin Lachman is one of two newcomers from nearby Quakertown, Pennsylvania. A three-time PIAA qualifier, Lachman earned an eighth-place finish his senior season. Lachman is a two-time regional finalist with a career record of 139-34. He has won a spot at Super 32 twice and has two third-place finishes at the Escape the Rock tournament. Lachman is also a freestyle All-American at Fargo.

Matty Lopes – 125/133 – Danbury, CT/Blair Academy

Danbury, Conn., product Matty Lopes is one of two Blair Academy products in the incoming class. Lopes is in the two lowest weight categories. He won a national prep title in 2023 and is a two-time national prep finalist. Lopes won two individual titles at the prestigious Beast of the East tournament in Delaware and won two titles at Journeymen events. He is ranked 38th on FloWrestling’s Class of 2024 Big Board.

Seamus Mack – 149 – Lancaster, PA/Hempfield

A three-time PIAA winner for Hempfield, Seamus Mack capped his career with a 39-3 record as a senior, with a regional title and third-place state finish under his belt. Mack recorded 131 career high school wins and 84 falls. He had three top-three finishes at the regional championships and his three state tournament podiums included eighth, sixth and third-place medals.

Rylan Rogers – 174/184 – Coeur d’Alene, Idaho/Coeur d’Alene (University of Michigan)

One of the nation’s top recruits in the class of 2022, Rylan Rogers won a prep national title for Blair Academy in 2020 and added two state titles for Coeur d’Alene High School in Idaho. Rogers was Idaho’s recipient of the 2022 Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award. At Michigan, Rogers carried over his eligibility, going 13-5 in 2022-23, then going 4-4 ​​in his first redshirt season. Rogers wrestled in four duals for the Wolverines.

Logan Rozynski – 157 – Sparta, NJ/Blair Academy

Blair Academy’s second wrestler in the incoming class, Logan Rozynski is a middleweight from Sparta, NJ. A national preparation finalist, Rozynski has placed twice at the prestigious Walsh Ironman tournament and has a third place at the Beast of the East to his credit. Holding a prep record of 101-9, Rozynski is also strong in freestyle, where he has won four New Jersey state titles. Rozynski is ranked 74th in the class of 2024 by FloWrestling and 78th by MatScouts.

Bekhruz Sadriddinov – 174 – Holland, Pennsylvania/Council Rock South

Coming to Lehigh from Council Rock South High School, Bekhruz Sadriddinov is a two-time PIAA winner, earning fifth and eighth place finishes in his last two seasons. Sadriddinov is a three-time regional champion and four-time regional place winner. He posted a career record of 149-29 with 83 falls. Sadriddinov twice won a spot at his high school’s famous Escape the Rock tournament and won a Fargo freestyle title in 2022.

Jadon Skellenger – 157 – Meridian, Idaho/Bishop Kelly

Two-time Idaho State Champion, Jadon Skellenger is an accomplished Greco-Roman wrestler from Bishop Kelly High School. A U15 Greco World Champion in 2019, Skellenger made the Cadet World Team in 2021. The 2023 Greco-Roman season saw Skellenger win the US Open and earn Outstanding Wrestler honors at the tournament. Skellenger was the 2023 Junior Pan American gold medalist and a finalist at the Greco World Team Trials. He is also a two-time Fargo finalist.

Mason Ziegler – 125 – Quakertown, Pennsylvania/Quakertown

Quakertown’s second wrestler in the incoming class, Mason Ziegler is a three-time PIAA medalist and state runner-up in 2023. A three-time regional champion, Ziegler finished seventh in the state as a sophomore and capped his high school career. with a third place. Ziegler went 167-19 in high school with 84 falls. He won the Bethlehem Holiday Classic twice and finished third in the Escape the Rock tournament.
