Dangerous “K” intersection will become a full stop today

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A dangerous intersection in an eastern Carolina county becomes a permanent shutdown Friday.

The Department of Transportation has realigned Highway 903 at the intersection of Pocosin and Red Forbes Road outside of Winterville.

For years, residents have complained about the so-called “K” intersection, which has been the scene of several accidents.

The DOT announced Friday that stop signs and roadway markings would be strengthened, requiring all drivers to stop at the intersection.
