Jennifer Lawrence to star in ‘Real Housewives’-inspired thriller

Jennifer Lawrence has an upcoming film that is a true passion project.

The Oscar winner, who was last seen in 2023’s “No Hard Feelings,” has been tapped to star in a murder mystery film inspired by the wildly popular reality TV franchise “Real Housewives.”

She will also produce the film, alongside Tony Award-nominated playwright Jeremy O. Harris (of “Slave Play” fame).

Plot details of the thriller, aptly titled “The Wives,” are currently under wraps.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The Wives” has been described as “partly inspired by the “Real Housewives” franchise, which focuses on soap operas and over-the-top portrayals of wealthy women in areas from Orange to County in Miami in Atlanta.

Lawrence herself is a superfan of the Bravo universe, which has spawned a cottage industry of middle-aged women who behave badly (and people who love/hate them).

In 2017, when asked who three people she would like to invite to a dinner party, living or dead, Lawrence cited Luann de Lesseps and Bethenny Frankel, both formerly of the “Real Housewives of New York.”

The “Hunger Games” star was recently activated by the drama surrounding “Scandoval” last year, even claiming to “curse the day” that “Vanderpump Rules” villain Tom Sandoval was born.
