IUP ANNOUNCES INTERIM LEADERSHIP FOR NEW COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES

IUP announced the selection of interim leadership for the new College of Health Sciences.

The university announced that the current dean of the IUP School of Graduate Studies and Leadership, Dr. Hillary Creely, will serve as interim dean of the new school, while the chair of the psychology department of IUP Dr. Lisa Newell will be named interim associate dean. IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll said in a statement that both men are well-respected leaders in the university community and that he was pleased to have agreed to serve in these roles.

The College of Health Sciences includes the departments of Allied Health and Public Health, Nursing and Psychology, and will have close ties to the proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine. The new school was developed following a year-long university-wide academic review and restructuring process. The new academic structure will come into force on July 1stthe same day Creely and Newell will begin their jobs as interim leaders.
