Caitlin Clark turned down $10 million to not play in Ice Cube’s Big 3 League

Caitlin Clark turned down million to not play in Ice Cube’s Big 3 League

WNBA star Caitlin Clark has received a pretty warm reception since she attracted the most attention the sport has ever received.

The Indiana Fever’s No. 1 overall draft pick has had to deal with adversity, resentment, jealousy, mainstream media narratives, as well as serious misconduct that wasn’t actually “just part of the game.

Sometimes it gets so out of hand that some wonder if it would have been better for Clark to take on rap icon and entrepreneur Ice Cube as part of his bid for the estimated $5 million Big 3 basketball league dollars for a year. Clark’s WNBA contract is currently in the range of $76,000.

Turns out that $5 million was only HALF the story, as Cube revealed on The Dan Patrick Show that his offer increased to two years, 10 million dollars for Clark to join the Big 3!

CAITLIN CLARK GAVE UP MILLIONS TO PLAY IN THE WNBA

“It was two years, $5 million a year… We were going to do some cool merch stuff and there was even talk of percentage ownership of the team (for Clark),” Cube told the legendary host sporty.

The WNBA’s No. 1 overall draft pick will only make $76,535 this year with the Indiana Fever; It doesn’t get much better for Clark and her four-year, $338,000 max WNBA contract.

“BUT WHAT ABOUT HIS APPROVALS?”

Yes, obviously Caitlin Clark makes extra money from sponsorships from companies like Nike and Panini Sporting Cards… but who’s to say that wouldn’t have happened anyway if she was in the Big 3? As I’ve written in the past, the Big 3 will air multiple times on the CBS national platform this season – something Clark’s regular matches against Fever have not. And his fame wasn’t going anywhere!

The biggest problem is that Ice Cube’s new $10 million raise provides a major glimpse into everything Caitlin Clark gave up to actually play in the WNBA.

She could have made $10 million in two years playing a Big 3 season that only lasts TEN WEEKS (plus playoffs). While the WNBA and its pitiful contract have a longer season of over 15 weeks. And yet, she didn’t go for it!

I can only imagine their new narrative after realizing that Clark literally gave up millions of dollars to compete in the WNBA – something many of them tried to reject, but can no longer do so thanks to this new revelation from Ice Cube! Nothing better than watching the angry crowd lash out in their faux outrage.

Speaking of Ice Cube, the Big 3 was tipped off last week and can be seen now on Twitter X and CBS Sports.
