Man accused of murder charges after shooting

ROANOKE, VA. (WDBJ) – A man was indicted on murder charges Monday, October 7 after a shooting on the 3400 block of Melrose Ave.

Montez Hairston was fatally shot in a parking lot Thursday, October 3 at 11 am

Mark Lamont Gray Jr., 23, was indicted for one count of first degree murder and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Gray Jr. is being held in the Roanoke City Adult Detention Center on a second degree murder warrant for the same incident. The warrant will now be replaced with the Circuit Court indictments.
