Minister calls for cancellation of registration of APC members in Kwara

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has called for the cancellation of the ongoing membership registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, citing non-compliance presumed to follow the procedures established by the party.

Mohammed, while addressing a press conference at his Oro State Council, Irepodun, acknowledged the polarization of the party in the state, but said only part of what formed the overall membership of the party had been unduly favored in the exercise.

Furthermore, the minister asserted that the exercise, which began in the state on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 and is expected to last for the next two weeks, was devoid of diligent attention from officials to the members, since the start of the exercise.

But the caretaker chairman of the APC in the state, Alhaji Abdullah Samari, said if Mohammed could be captured at his polling station, “it means that all allegations are baseless because the exercise is not only credible but also a huge success.”
