Tremblay was applauded for his role in the dark film and has gone on to appear in films such as “Wonder” and “Good Boys.”

Jacob Tremblay, the young actor who costarred with Brie Larson in 2015’s Room, graduated from high school. Really.

On Tuesday, he shared photos of himself (below) all decked out in the traditional cap and gown and walking across the stage at a ceremony with his classmates at Walnut Grove Secondary School in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. He captioned it simply, “Congratulations WGSS Class of 2024!”

Tremblay had just turned 9 when the drama, about a young boy held captive in a room with his mother since his birth, was released. The film was lauded by critics, and Larson won an Oscar for her part as his mother.

Although he had acted for a few years before that movie, Room, which was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards, was a boost for his career. He won a Critics Choice Award and was nominated for the 2016 Screen Actors Guild prize for best actor, among many other honors, for his affecting turn as Jack.

Since then, he’s appeared in movies including The Toxic Avenger, Good Boysand Wonder, in which he played a boy with facial differences going to public school for the first time. Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson played his parents.

In a January interview with ComingSoon, he was asked where he felt like he was in his career, being both so young but yet a veteran at acting.

“It’s definitely interesting, because I definitely am very experienced on set, but I feel like — even for the biggest stars in the world — there’s always something to learn,” Tremblay said. “I’m just excited to do future projects. I like playing a bunch of different characters, so I’m excited to see where that takes me and what characters I get to play and do research behind the character. I’m really excited for my future.”
