“All these old white guys in the room”: despite Patrick Stewart in the lead role, one actor found Star Trek sexist and regressive until the death of Gene Roddenberry

Star Trek has long sparked a divided conversation among people. While some view the saga as deeply progressive and liberating, others, including actress Denise Crosby, who was part of the saga, criticize its perceived sexism.

The original Star Trek series was known for its blatant and thoughtless sexism. Female characters were often scantily clad, representing either submissive and airy sex symbols or conniving and manipulative sex symbols. Unfortunately, these depictions have persisted throughout the evolution of the franchise.
