Hotel receptionists often encounter difficult customers and a key part of their job is to diffuse situations and resolve problems. However, some customers are impossible to please, no matter how hard you try. A receptionist shared the story on Reddit of a particularly pushy guest who claimed to have a reservation for a room on the nonexistent fourth floor of her hotel. Despite repeatedly explaining that the hotel had only three floors, the woman asked to be taken to the fourth floor. Eventually, the frustrated receptionist took the woman and her luggage to the roof. The post was shared on Reddit.

The receptionist said the hotel was privately owned and the only way to book was to speak to the front desk. There were no online or third party reservations, so it was weird for a woman to walk in claiming to have a reservation. “One holiday weekend, we are full. A woman I don’t recognize at check-in walks around. She puts a piece of paper in front of me then goes to get a lot of luggage. The paper shows her a reservation at ” Days Inn” (the hotel was called “Days Inn” 5 years ago) at this address for tonight for a tenth of the price we were selling for before it was sold out. She comes back to the office probably thinking I had registered her. . all this time,” they wrote, before informing him that there was no room.

“I regret to inform you that we do not accept third party bookings; unfortunately we are already booked for the night,” they said, but the woman insisted she had a reservation. “I have a reservation! It’s right here! I paid a lot for it!” she replied. “Madam, I believe you,” they replied. “Unfortunately you are not in our system because we do not accept third party bookings. They sold it to you fraudulently.”

She was adamant that she had a reservation. “You’re just trying to steal my money! I have a confirmation number right here! I gave it to you,” she said and they responded, “Yes ma’am, you gave me a reservation in a Days Inn We are (hotel name), waving at a sign.” All signage inside and outside the building is correct. They then point out, “Also, this is for a room on the fourth floor, we only have three floors. » She was not ready to give in. “I stayed at this DAYS INN last year, on the fourth floor!” Even though she remained calm and tried to convince her that a fourth floor didn’t exist, she continued angrily. “Finally, she yells at me that I’m going to take her to her room on the fourth floor, which she paid for, right away! I don’t answer, I just stare at her with a blank face until she slaps the office and shouts “Now again!” They decided to comply and take her there as she asked.

I grab my huge key chain and we both take care of his excess baggage and head up the stairs. Once we get to the third floor, I show him the sign for the third floor and tell him it’s the third floor . I then use my maintenance key to unlock the door to the maintenance stairs which are not lit and she comes up behind me without saying anything I open the door to the floor on the tar roof and I go out “Here you go. “As nice as the last time you stayed here,” they announce dramatically. “I drop off his bags and walk down the stairs to reception,” they wrote. The receptionist added that they would have helped her get a reservation elsewhere if she hadn’t been so rude or even tried to get a refund from the third party who sold her the ticket.

Reddit users sided with the receptionist and said the customer had no reason to be so rude. “I would have saved myself this problem and called the cops as soon as she started yelling at me. I’m so sick of entitled morons,” one user wrote. Most made fun of her. One person joked: “Legend says she’s still wandering the roof, looking for her room.”
