The One Show forced to apologize for sound error

Oops ! The One Show (no stranger to awkward moments) suffered a minor technical outage on Friday (October 15) when viewers noticed they were hearing one of the BBC One series’ notoriously informative segments read over once.

The incident occurred when the show visited a living room in Wales to gather the views of the general public on a number of current affairs issues.

Only we had them twice.

The segment saw a male voiceover explain what was happening, followed by that of Angelica Bell (who co-hosted the show alongside McFly’s Harry Judd), then dubbed over the top. The two read from identical scripts, with Bell’s voice about a second behind the original.

“That double voiceover gave me a headache!! #TheOneShow,” one person said wrotewhile another tweeted: “What is that distorted sound?? @BBCTheOneShow #TheOneShow”, another request.

“Why are there two simultaneous voiceovers on this hairdresser section on #theoneshow?” another person interrogateslike another wrote on the social media site: “Two voiceovers crack me up! #TheOneShow.”

And they weren’t the only ones to receive the news twice:

Angellica and Harry didn’t seem to be aware of the problem at first, but apologized after a conversation with guests Jack Whitehall and Jamie Lang.

Angellica was then forced to apologize again at the end of the show, after claiming a number of viewers had contacted her about “sound issues”.
