Meet the 2024 Livingston County Girls Track and Field Team

The center of power in Livingston County girls athletics in 2024 was in Brighton and Pinckney.

Of the 19 all-county first team places, Brighton and Pinckney each have eight. The rest of the county has three spots combined.

Brighton’s Gabrielle Bolitho, Nikki Carothers, Carrigan Eberly and Addison Payne each make the first team three times between their individual and relay honors. The same goes for Pinckney’s Madison Cooke, Brielle Reason and CeCe Thorington.

Elle Bissett

School: Brighton

Class: Junior

Events: Distance

Achievements: Bissett placed second in the county in the 3,200 (10:59.64), fifth in the 1,600 (5:14.34) and fifth in the 800 (2:24.46). She placed fourth in the 3,200m at the KLAA and regional meets.

Gabrielle Bolitho

School: Brighton

Class: Senior

Events: Midway

Achievements: Bolitho qualified further for state with her third-place finish in 2:19.81 at the regional championships, then ran a personal best 2:17.75 to take 14th place in Division 1. She finished third at KLAA and won two duals in the 800. She also ran two relays at the state meet.

Nikki Carothers

School: Brighton

Class: Senior

Events: Distance

Achievements: Carothers’ 3,200 time of 10:57.22 led the county, her 1,600 time of 5:05.47 placed second and her 800 time of 2:20.96 was third. She broke 11 minutes in the 3,200 three times, winning the KLAA meet and placing second at the regional championships. She finished 16th in the Division 1 final in the 3,200m.

Madison Cooke

School: Pinckney

Class: Junior

Events: Sprint

Achievements: Cooke had the second-fastest times in the county in the 100 (13.13) and 200 (26.60). After finishing third in the 200 at the SEC White meet, she focused on the relays and pole vault for regionals, running in the state meet in three relays.

Dave Crowe

School: Pinckney

Class: First-year student

Events: Obstacles

Achievements: Crowe had the best finish ever by a Livingston County freshman, placing second in the 300 hurdles at the Division 2 final in 45.47 seconds. She won the SEC White and regional meets at this event. Crowe finished second in the 100 hurdles at the SEC White meet and ran 15.58 for that event at the MITCA Champion of Champions meet.

Mallory Dickey

School: Pinckney

Class: Senior

Events: Obstacles

Achievements: Splitting her time between track and field and softball, Dickey finished third in the SEC White and regional meets in the 300 hurdles. She finished fifth at conference and sixth at regionals in the 100 hurdles. Her 300 hurdles time of 49.02 was second in the county, while her 100 hurdles time of 17.83 was third.

Carrigan Eberly

School: Brighton

Class: Senior

Events: Distance

Achievements: Eberly became the first Brighton girl since 1999 and the first from the county since 2010 to win the 1,600m at the regional championships. She finished ninth in the state meet in 5:03.19. She finished fifth at the regional championships in the 3,200m after winning first place in the 3,200m relay and 1,600m earlier in the competition. Her 3,200m time of 11:06.04 ranked fourth in the county.

Nadia Jacobs

School: Pinckney

Class: Junior

Event: Pole vault

Achievements: Jacob was the only girl in the county to clear 10 feet in the pole vault this spring, doing just that with her first place finish at the regional competition. The two-time state qualifier won the SEC White championship at 9-3 and finished 11th in the Division 2 state meet at 9-9.

Emma Kanka

School: Howell

Class: Second year student

Events: Throws

Achievements: Kanka had the best discus throw in the county at 114-5 and was second in the shot put at 35-0.75. She finished fourth at regionals in the discus.

Lexi Le

School: Howell

Class: Senior

Event: big jump

Achievements: Le finished second at the regional championships with a county best jump of 5-2, qualifying for his second state competition. She finished 14th in the Division 1 final. The placed third in the KLAA competition and won two dual meets.

Juliette Lewis

School: Brighton

Class: Second year student

Events: Midway

Achievements: Lewis finished second at the regional championships with a county best time of 2:17.10 in the 800. She competed in the state meet in the 800 and two relays. She recorded a time of 58.9 in the 400m and 1,600m relay at the regional championships.

Aubree Meyer

School: Hartland

Class: Senior

Events: Throws

Achievements: Meyer became the first county girl to make all-state in the shot put twice since Hartland’s Cathy Rex in 1977 and 1978. Meyer finished sixth with a throw of 40-7 after placing fifth in junior. She is one of only three girls in the county to clear 40 feet in the shot put, with her best throw being 42-3.75.

Addison Payne

School: Brighton

Class: Junior

Events: Sprint

Achievements: Payne ran a county best time of 58.45 to place second in the 400m at the regional championships. She finished fourth at the KLAA meet and won three dual meets in the 400. Her 200 time of 26.75 ranked third in the county.

Brielle Raison

School: Pinckney

Class: Senior

Event: Long jump

Achievements: Reason won his third SEC White championship and second regional championship in the long jump. She posted a county record of 17-4 during the regional competition. Reason made all-state twice, placing fourth as a sophomore and sixth as a junior.

CeCe Thorington

School: Pinckney

Class: Senior

Events: Sprint

Achievements: Thorington won the SEC White championship in the 400 in 59.50 seconds and took first place in the 1,600 relay that secured the championship title for the Pirates. She led the county with a time of 12.69 in the 100 and was fourth in the 200 in 27.17, although she ran a school record 25.82 last year. She ran three relays at the state meet.

400 relays

School: Pinckney

Runners: Madison Cooke (Jr.), Davea Crowe (Fr.), Brielle Reason (Sr.), CeCe Thorington (Sr.)

Achievements: That group came together for regionals, as Cooke, Crowe and Thorington sacrificed individual events to help Pinckney put his relay teams together. The Pirates finished second at the regional championships in a county record 50.73 before finishing 23rd in the Division 2 final.

800 relays

School: Pinckney

Runners: Madison Cooke (Jr.), Davea Crowe (Fr.), Brielle Reason (Sr.), CeCe Thorington (Sr.)

Achievements: Pinckney broke the school record with a fifth-place finish in 1:44.22 at the state Division 2 meet. The previous mark of 1:44.22 stood since the 2001 state meet. The Pirates also won the SEC White meet and took second place at regionals.

1,600 relays

School: Brighton

Runners: Addison Payne (Jr.), Gabrielle Bolitho (Sr.), Selena White (Soph.), Juliet Lewis (Soph.)

Achievements: Brighton ran its best time in this relay in eight years, placing second at the regional championships in 4:01.52. Payne and Lewis beat a minute for their 400 split times. The Bulldogs finished 14th in the Division 1 final in 4:03.91.

3,200 relays

School: Brighton

Runners: Nikki Carothers (Sr.), Gabrielle Bolitho (Sr.), Juliet Lewis (Soph.), Carrigan Eberly (Sr.)

Achievements: Brighton set a school record with a winning time of 9:19.30 at the regional meet. The previous mark of 9:19.90 was set in 2016. The Bulldogs won the KLAA meet in 9:25.06. Brighton became All-State by finishing seventh in the state meet in 9:24.29.
