Macron ready to “continue the dialogue” with Putin

French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed his desire to resume dialogue with Russian leader Vladimir Putin despite the lack of recent communication between the two leaders.

Macron’s statement was published on the Generation Do It Yourself podcast.

“I believe in the power of dialogue and I will continue the dialogue with Vladimir Putin,” said Macron, emphasizing his commitment to diplomatic engagement even in the context of strained relations.

Macron confirmed he had no contact in recent months when asked about his recent interactions with the Russian leader. However, he did not rule out future discussions, particularly on specific issues.

“No, but I do not exclude that we do it on one subject or another, including on the theme of nuclear power plants or others,” » declared the French president.

Macron’s openness to dialogue comes at a time of heightened tensions between Russia and Western countries due to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
