Two Shreve Memorial branches set to host free escape adventures

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Two branches of the Shreve Memorial Library will host a free, fun event that encourages teamwork and brain power.

The Broadmoor and David Raines branches will add escape room adventures to their summer programming.

Starting today, June 25 through July 13, the Broadmoor branch will host a Pagemaster Escape Room, and the David Raines branch will host a teen-only Escape Room Challenge on July 17. Participation in the escape room adventures is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Pagemaster escape rooms are designed for groups of at least two and up to six participants, ages 12 and up.

Escape Adventure at the Broadmoor branch at 1212 Captain Shreve Drive will be open Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 3:15 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Space is limited, so participants must register in advance. To register for your chance to escape the library, call 318-869-0120.

The David Raines Branch, located at 2855 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, is the Teen Adventure Escape Room site, which features puzzles, mystery, a dark room and a time limit. Young people aged 12 to 17 will solve a series of puzzles that will lead to a key that will open the door. The adventure takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Call 318-222-0824 to register for the teen adventure.
