Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle faced a hugely embarrassing mistake while performing at the O2 Arena.

The 39-year-old singer is currently preparing for the final shows with her bandmates on their The Girls Aloud Show reunion tour. This week the quartet will perform three more concerts at the capital’s iconic venue, before playing two shows at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena. They will next headline Brighton Pride at an exclusive UK festival on August 3.

Before coming together, the group had been surrounded by feuds, but came together to support their late bandmate, Sarah Harding, following her devastating breast cancer diagnosis. Honoring Sarah’s final wish, the group decided to reunite to celebrate their 20th anniversary since forming on ITV’s Popstars: The Rivals.

Nadine, Cheryl Tweedy, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh treated their fans to their mega-hits, including Wake Me Up, On The Metro and their biggest track, The Promise, while reminiscing on their two decades of music. But during their closing track, The Promise, Nadine made a mistake.

As she sang the lyrics to the BRIT Award-winning song, the Derry-born star tried to keep her composure after pink confetti was shot across the arena. In a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, the Sweetest High singer could be seen trying to cover her mouth.

However, his attempts were unsuccessful as he inhaled some of the confetti and appeared to choke before quickly regaining his composure. While his bandmates don’t seem to be aware of the incident, it has happened to Nadine before. During a concert, TikTok star Josy Burke captured the moment Nadine was caught while performing Jump.

Greeting the final chorus of the track Love Actually, thousands of pieces of multi-colored confetti were fired across the Dublin arena – again, taking Nadine by surprise as she inhaled the pieces. “Nadine Coyle choking on confetti has to be a tour highlight for me. She’s an icon,” Josy wrote alongside the hilarious video.

After the awkward moment, Nadine told the crowd, “I choked on one of these things the other night. I took a deep breath and I was like, uh, I was looking for the Heimlich to be fair. And nowadays, someone I caught and put on TikTok so I can relive that moment anytime.”
