Canada Day parade at risk of cancellation

Beyak Automotive Group, organizer of Canada Day activities in Fort Frances, is considering canceling the planned Canada Day parade due to a lack of participation.

The parade, which is scheduled to start at 11 a.m., is expected to run from Sorting Gap Marina to La Vérendrye Hospital.

In a post on the event organizer’s Facebook page, Holly Kaemingh says they would like to see more participation from businesses and groups.

“Do you know groups, businesses, individuals, families, clubs? Send them to us. We want to start the day off right with a bigger and better parade than last year,” Kaemingh wrote.

A decision will be made on Wednesday on the status of the parade.
