Brandon Aiyuk posts cryptic message after report of 49ers’ failed trade with Commanders

A day after Brandon Aiyuk met with the San Francisco 49ers about a possible contract extension, the receiver sparked drama on social media.

There were rumors of Aiyuk being traded almost all offseason, but the receiver’s agent shut down any theories that he requested a trade from the team in April. 49ers general manager John Lynch has also publicly stated that he never attempted to trade Aiyuk.

Well, a report released Monday by ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicates that the 49ers explored a trade with the Washington Commanders for Aiyuk ahead of the NFL Draft. Aiyuk responded to an Instagram post from the JPA Football report, creating even more controversy.

“But I thought the Niners never tried to trade me?” » Aiyuk commented.

There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding the 49ers and Aiyuk situation, that’s for sure, especially when conflicting reports continue to come out.

Last week, Aiyuk posted a viral video of him telling his former Arizona State teammate Jayden Daniels that the 49ers don’t want him. Various reports then said the 49ers wanted him on the team and were trying to make it happen.
