Formula E and BXR launch class inspired by racing drivers’ intense training regimes

Next July, the first 100% electric world racing championship, Formula E will bring a brand new workout to the luxury London-based gym, BXRreplicating the grueling training regimes of the sport’s ultra-fit racing drivers.

Launched on Monday 8 July and running for a week across BXR’s three London sites (Canary Wharf, City and Marylebone), the aptly named ATTACK MODE by Formula E The class was inspired by NEOM McLaren Formula E Team driver Sam Bird’s own training routine, giving fans an insight into the life of a driver off the track.

Centered around strength and conditioning, training focuses on improving endurance, muscle building and mental agility – reflecting everything a Formula E driver needs as they prepare to tackle the biggest obstacles on the slopes, while traveling at speeds of up to 200 km/h. miles per hour.

Available to book on the BXR website or app using a Sweat credit or booking via Classpass, this one-of-a-kind, high-intensity workout will see gym-goers take on assault bikes, TRX (exercise of total body resistance), free weights and sprints. With upper body, neck strength, and cardio all essential parts of a race car driver’s training, training hones these skills with exercises like TRX rows and band sprints.

ATTACK MODE by Formula E was co-designed by BXR and Sam Bird (NEOM McLaren), one of Formula E’s veteran drivers, who has competed in the sport since its inception in 2014. Celebrated for his multiple victories, Bird’s training regime is at the heart of its success, and now fitness and Formula E fans will have the chance to find out for themselves exactly what it takes to compete at the highest level.
