A lack of action across the peloton sums up a typical affair at the Spanish track, with a thrilling qualifying session on Saturday the only thing of note.

Which viral sensation has reached the F1 paddock?

In the parking lots used by teams, drivers and other personnel, one thing caught the eye of a popular Formula 1 photographer.

Kym Illman has been shooting all things F1 for the past seven years and has undoubtedly witnessed some incredible things during that time.

However, this week a viral social media trend caught his eye in the car park – which he photographed and discussed on social media platform TikTok.

In recent weeks, a video clip of an American woman has gone viral, in which she uses the phrase “Hawk Tuah”.

Illman spotted this phrase sticker on the back of a car used by an F1 team to take to the track this weekend, but insisted he wouldn’t name them because it might be a bit embarrassing.

The photographer himself had to look up the definition of the expression that baffled him when he first encountered it.
