Streamer Dr Disrespect admits to receiving ‘inappropriate’ messages with his child

Popular streamer Dr Disrespect, real name Guy Beahm, responded to allegations that he sexted a minor on Twitch’s private messaging service in 2017, leading to his ban from the platform in 2020 .

In a lengthy statement shared on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, the streamer apologized to his community, friends and the team at Midnight Society Game Studio, the video game developer that he co-founded. “Were there any whispered messages on Twitch with a minor in 2017? The answer is yes,” he wrote, explaining that he only addressed the situation because two former Twitch employees claimed he was banned in 2020 for sending sexual messages to a minor on the platform.

“Was there real intentions behind these messages, the answer is absolutely no,” he continued. “These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too far in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more. Nothing illegal happened, no photos were shared, no crimes were committed. was committed, I never even met the individual I went through a lengthy arbitration regarding a civil dispute with Twitch and this matter was resolved by a settlement. criminal case against me and no criminal charges have ever been filed against me.

Dr Disrespect wrote that he would “take responsibility” for the “inappropriate” posts, but denied some of the accusations circulating.

“I’m not a fucking predator or pedophile. Are you kidding me?” he wrote. “Anyone who really knows me knows where I stand on this stuff with people like that. Fuck. This is a different level of disgust that I hate to even hear about. Don’t call me the worst of the worst with your exaggerations. Get the hell out of here with this shit.”
