GE HealthCare (Nasdaq: GEHC) announced that a New Mexico hospital has become the first to install its latest Allia IGS Pulse.

The Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center (HHNM) became the first site in the United States to install the system. GE HealthCare’s Image-Guided System (IGS) includes a new imaging chain. The company designed this feature to deliver exceptional imaging at the right dose. This enables visible impact in complex cardiology procedures, regardless of patient size.

Allia IGS Pulse offers a personalized workspace to meet the operator’s specific needs and preferences. As part of the new imaging chain, the system includes a monopolar X-ray tube used to capture images for interventional procedures. The company says the tube – the first of its kind – delivers powerful yet quiet imaging capabilities.

GE HealthCare received FDA clearance for this system in October 2023. HHNM plans to use Allia IGS Pulse in its cardiac electrophysiology (PE) laboratory to plan, guide and monitor EP procedures. This could include cardiac ablations, catheterizations, transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), balloon and coronary angioplasties and much more.

“GE HealthCare has a long-standing relationship with Lovelace Health System and has witnessed its continued leadership in providing the best possible care to its patients,” said Arnaud Marie, general manager of intervention at GE HealthCare. “We are excited to partner with them on the first U.S. installation of the Allia IGS Pulse system. This next step is a demonstration of our commitment to addressing today’s healthcare challenges, driving efficiencies and, most importantly, delivering optimal experiences for patients and their providers.
