People are shocked after seeing what Jay Z and Beyoncé’s $200,000,000 mansion looks like, inside and out

Jay Z and Beyoncé bought their Malibu mansion for $200 million, but it seems fans don’t think they got a bargain at all.

Beyoncé and Jay Z are two of the biggest names in the music industry and if you’ve followed either of their careers, you’ll know just how successful they’ve been.

With that success came wealth, and the couple decided to make a massive purchase in 2023. At the time, the home’s $200 million price tag made it the most expensive purchase for a private residence in California.

They decided to add another property to their portfolio by purchasing the house designed by 81-year-old Tadao Ando.

Ando is a Pritzker Prize-winning architect who is among the most respected names in the field. So you can understand why both men were happy to buy.

But fans on social media just don’t understand and are quick to question the couple’s decision.

However, when it came to this power couple’s humble abode, people were left scratching their heads.

One social media user wrote: “This is truly horrible! No character, no soul, cold and hard, no house at all.”

Another commented: “Am I the only one who finds this quite tasteless? other less expensive homes are so much nicer. »

While someone else wondered: “Why does it cost so much, it doesn’t look much bigger or nicer than the 20m ones.”

As if that wasn’t bad enough, others said it felt like a prison. Ouch.

“200 MILLION FOR THAT??? Shit looks like a prison yard. I could drive to Home Depot and build it myself with cement blocks,” one person wrote.

A second wrote: “They could have just bought a prison since it looks identical. I also saved money! »

Another added: “They really spent $200 million on the prison walls lol. »

The family’s California home spans eight acres in the famously affluent beach enclave.

Spanning an area of 42,000 square feet, they purchased it from William Bell Jr, one of the world’s greatest art collectors.

So there’s plenty of room for the couple not to care what people say about their house, I guess.

Homes by Ando, who lives in Japan, are also particularly rare in the United States, as there are fewer than 20 Ando-designed residences in the entire country.
