I wore the new Revlon Colorstay Limitless Matte Liquid Lipstick for 24 hours and was shocked by the results

Whether it’s covering my face in mud or diving into an ice bath, there are very few things I wouldn’t do in the name of beauty.

However, something I’ve never tried is wearing lipstick for more than two hours.

So when Revlon launched their new Colorstay Limitless Matte Liquid Lipstick, which claims to stay put for up to 24 hours, I knew what I had to do.

I wore this lipstick for a whole 24 hours – and even went to bed with it on.

And although it’s an experience I would never want to repeat, it was absolutely fascinating.

Here’s what happened when I first applied it, topped it off during the day, and wiped it off the next morning – along with everything else.

I’ll be honest, I waited until the weekend to embark on this experiment because the thought of walking into the office with yesterday’s lipstick is horrifying.

So, Saturday morning at 9am, I applied Revlon Colorstay Limitless Matte Liquid Lipstick in Poster Child for the first time.

Although all five shades – ranging from deep red to raspberry – are stunning and highly pigmented, I was particularly drawn to this neutral, dusty pink shade.

I was immediately impressed by the light, creamy formula, delivered by the patented lip-hugging applicator that ensures both precision and comfort.

The formula immediately looked bright and glossy on my lips, but it quickly dried to a classic matte texture, which didn’t settle into lines or dry skin.

I found myself reaching for a tissue to blot any excess formula from my teeth — but the formula hadn’t moved, and even rubbing or pressing on my lips didn’t seem to faze it.

Despite two hours of cleaning (quite sweaty), the lipstick hadn’t moved.

There was still no lipstick on my teeth and my lips looked hydrated and pigmented.

The only difference I noticed was that the edge of my lips was slightly less defined, which could easily be corrected with a lip liner.

However, it was so minimal that I didn’t bother and instead headed out the door to enjoy the warm weather.

Busy strolling around town, I only checked the status of my lipstick after I finished lunch.

And the results weren’t great.

While my upper lip remained intact, my lower lip had taken a beating and only about half of the lipstick remained.

The smooth, blurred texture that had impressed me so much earlier had disappeared into a dry, chalky finish, accentuating the fine lines on my lips.

However, this is a harsh criticism as I would never expect another lipstick to survive lunchtime – but it was made worse by the difficulty of touching up and reapplying .

The Revlon Colorstay Limitless Matte Liquid Lipstick has a slightly rubbery texture, which helps coat your lips in product, and while this is great for an initial application, applying anything on top results in a cakey, cakey finish. unequal.

It took me a while to get my lipstick back intact, but after a bit of fiddling with the wand and a cotton swab, I finally got there.

By 4 p.m., I felt exhausted and a little exhausted, and it seemed like my lipstick felt the same way too.

The touch-ups I’d added earlier had cracked and fallen off (probably from the heat and the ice cream I’d eaten), leaving behind an uneven finish.

However, I was impressed with how well the pigment clung to my lips, meaning I could remove excess product, smooth my lips with a cotton swab and add a little more product to the existing color.

It only took me a few moments and I was delighted with the result.

After dinner, my lips felt dry and dehydrated.

When I went to check my lipstick, I discovered that the matte finish had been completely polished off, but my lips had a nice tint.

Since my lips no longer looked matte, I applied a little more product to my lips, deciding that this would be the last touch-up I did before bed.

Removing my makeup (and yes, I cleanse twice) without touching my lipstick is proven very difficult.

I used a flannel to wipe off my makeup, tracing the outline of my lips to make sure I didn’t disturb the product.

Since my 8pm touch-up, the lipstick hadn’t budged and was actually quite nice, although the matte texture hadn’t survived.

Before bed, I (daringly) swapped my dark pillowcase for a white one—fingers crossed that there would be no lipstick transfer.

I don’t think I’ve ever jumped out of bed so quickly.

First of all, there was no transfer, mess or lipstick marks on my pillow-tick.

When I looked in the bathroom mirror, I was also impressed to see that my lips were still pigmented and the tint had held on.

However, I noticed that wearing lipstick had dried out my lips and they were starting to feel a little sore.

Unsurprisingly, the lipstick was very difficult to remove when I finally managed to get it off, but I finally managed with a few strokes of micellar water.

If paired with eating, drinking, and going out in the sun, this lipstick won’t survive 24 hours perfectly.

What it will do, however, is shade your lips for that duration, but it’s important to note that it’s not easy to add more or reapply product.

However, let’s be real: no one needs this lipstick to stay on for a full 24 hours, and if you can live with only about half a day, then this is a glossy lipstick worth investing in.

I loved the highly pigmented formula that blurs lines, is easy to apply and doesn’t require a lip liner thanks to the precision wand.

Even though I’ll never wear it for 24 hours again, I keep one in my purse because the pigment is just SO GOOD.
