HACKTIVIST mixes djent and grime in “Not Alone”, a powerful message about mental health

British djent/grime crossover outfit Hacktivist present a heavy and emotionally charged piece entitled “Not alone“. Started with equal measures of urgency and ferocity, “Not Alone” is a brutally honest depiction of the global mental health crisis told through the eyes of vocal duo JJ Olifent and J Hurley.

With the main mantra of the track emphasizing that mental health issues affect people from all backgrounds Likewise, the group states that “no matter where people come from, our struggles can be very similar, despite our perceived differences. If you are struggling or feeling isolated, remember that you are not alone.

Singer JJ Olifent continues: “For more than half my life I suffered from ADHD, depression and anxiety, especially when I was growing up because you have to struggle to survive. The world is a sick place, I found myself on autopilot, putting on the mask because that was what I had to do to succeed. I should have asked for help sooner. In 2022, I received my ADHD diagnosis and am getting the support I need while thriving. If you are suffering, seek help. Don’t live in silence and let the world consume you.
